Oops, I did it again...

I fell down on the blogging job. lol! I was really on a roll there for a while, but I got lazy and haven't been doing my regular blogs. I'm getting back on the wagon, though. And could I possibly put more metaphors into a short post? lol!

You Gotta Read Reviews

“A Lady’s Pleasure” is a satisfying romp to another time, giving the reader a vivid experience life in the lives of her characters. Jolie Cain does a good job of making the reader feel like they are actually experiencing the Regency time period. She writes knowledgeably of this time, and paints beautiful images in the readers’ minds. The verbal, sexually charged bantering between Richard and Lily keeps one reading on, eager to see what will happen next. As the love affair between them becomes more heated, a string of misconceptions and ill-conceived schemes of playing “hard-to-get” threaten to drive the lovers apart. Will love prevail?

The length of the book, only 65 pages, makes this a quick read. I would recommend “A Lady’s Pleasure” to someone looking for lighthearted romance, but not a lot of time to indulge in a longer story. I enjoyed this book very much but would have preferred it had developed into a full novel. That being said, it was fun taking this romantic journey with the author!

The Romance Studio gives A Lady's Pleasure 5 Hearts!

After a miserable marriage, Lily Laughton, Lady Morely is perfectly content to remain a well off widow, doing her best to avoid anyone who might threaten her chosen life. Even if it means going to her friend's house party dressed to the hilt in a dowdy disguise. However, the Duke of Carlisle sees thorough her disguise and finds a woman he could actually see settling down with. It's going to take all of his best persuasive techniques to get Lily down the aisle again, but Richard knows he's up to the challenge.

This was a wonderful book to read. While this story is a historical, Lily could easily walk off the pages, she is such a well done character. It doesn't take long before you care about the main characters, and want to know more about them. The author skillfully gives us character info without slowing down the story. The interaction between Richard and Lily is hotly sensual as he tries to convince her to trust in a future for them. This novella was as satisfying a read as any longer historical romance book I've read. I'm certainly going to recommend this book to my friends and will be reading more by this author.
